Message	construction site at 2 a.m. in a car with no plates. If he indeed followed you, he would almost certainly notice that you had no plates. Even if he didn't follow you, seeing someone sitting in a car on a construction site at 2 a.m. is reason enough to come over and investigate what that person is doing. For all he knew, you could be someone preparing to steal construction site materials - as happens all the time, hence the need for your "construction security officer" job.
